Award Description
The Scholar Research Support grant provides an award of up to $10,000 to support research based on our collections. Recipients are expected to spend a minimum of ten days at the Hoover Institution Library & Archives directly accessing collection materials in the reading room, complete their research and post-visit summary report within the one year the cohort.
Awards will be announced on July 1, 2026. Grant recipients are expected to complete their research and submit a report between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027.
Eligibility & How to Apply
The Scholar Research Support Grant is available to US faculty, postdocs, independent scholars, and non-US faculty.* International scholars are responsible for securing permission to be in the US. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
Applicants are encouraged to search our collections to identify archival collection titles or library materials that will be consulted as part of your research. Applicants are also encouraged to learn more about the many ways to search our rare and unique collection of archival and library materials to better inform your selection of collection materials.
*Undergraduate and graduate students currently residing in the United States are eligible to apply for the Silas Palmer Fellowship.

The names and email addresses of two individuals who will complete recommendation forms.
Please note that all submissions are final. Once you submit your application, you will not have the option to make any edits.
All materials, including completed recommendation forms, must be submitted by April 30, 2026.
Fellowship recipients are expected to complete their visit, research, and post-visit summary report between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027.
Decision announcements will be sent to applicants in July 2026.
